Witam witam! Polecam zatem kolorowo! Jeśli chętnych nauczycieli nie będzie, to od przyszłego miesiąca rozdajemy pozostałe plakaty wszystkim chętnym :-)

New Year, so what?

Well, actually New Year should bring new books, but so far everything must be keep in secret. Today we welcome on our blog a new book - The White Tiger, by Aravind Adiga. I know, it's the winner of the Man Booker Prize in 2008, so it's not as fresh, as one can wisch, but... It is really special. Adiga creates depth, mystery and separate world, that no one from European crystal-palace-society can understand. He uses a simple words, but the more economical becomes his method of writing, the more transparent becomes his style and more we can see behind it. And we see. Not only a society od modern India, and also not only criminal mystery. But also a fine net of connections betveen human, his wild nature, his cultural restrictions and his desires. I wish that polish authors could write like this...

Definitely the book of the week

I've found this book in the back of library. The plastic cover was sticky with dust, so I took if off and... what appeared before my eyes? A beautiful picture book, filled not only with photos of exotic places, which I expected to see, considering the title of book. I'd rather say that everything people have learnt about travelling, the whole culture of travelling, included means of transport, history of tourism, and many more was put together in that one book.

But the most impressing things about Travel are photos. Here I put some, but they look a lot better in the book...
